Hand Made Ceramic Dog Bowl

Each and every bowl has been completely hand made right here in Geelong Victoria by Sean “Hoog”. Every bowl has been wheel thrown and then carefully taken through the process of trimming, drying, glazing and finally finishing off ready for you and your beloved four legged friend to enjoy. Each bowl is similar in size shape and color however with hand made ceramics there are always slight differences and each bowl does truly have its own personality. I generally will make small runs of each bowl and once these dog bowls are sold there may not be more available for a short time.

About Our Ceramic Bowls

Our pet food and water bowls are made from durable Australian stoneware clay and unique stoneware glazes that are completely food safe. Our pet food and water bowls are made to be different to the mass produced bowls you may be used to. We make our bowls considering the environment that they are going to be in, we want them to take pride of place in your home and provide many many years of service to you, your dog and your home. We make pet bowls in many different shapes and styles ( too many to mention and its always growing ) but we generally make them in 3 size variations. ( NB: measurements do not include feet on bowls that have feet )

Small Bowl     - W15cm - H6cm

Medium Bowl - W19cm - H7cm 

Large Bowl     - W23cm - 8cm    

Please keep in mind that once a particular Pet food or water bowl has been sold we may not make that particular glaze color or style again/or for a while… Its truly what makes totally hand crafted ceramics so very special.

Disclaimer* If you choose to use your handmade ceramic pet food or water bowl for something other than the intended use we wont hold it against you, I have seen so many photos from customers using these bowls for everything from fruit bowls to salad bowls to serving bowls and of course water and food for the much loved pup!

Why Choose Ceramic Bowls Over Plastic Bowls

Plastic bowls will scratch and mark over time and these little scratches and surface marks can open the way to allowing particalized food and bacteria remaining on the surface of the bowl even though the bowl has had a thorough clean. It has been suggested that some breeds of cats and small dogs may develop skin irritations as a result of eating/drinking from such plastic containers.

The benefits of Ceramic

Our ceramic bowls are fired to the high temperature of 1282c  - cone 10 - meaning that they have now become vitrified and impervious to water. They are easy to clean and the interior surface of each bowl is fully glazed and smooth meaning there are no scratches to harbor any nasties. 

Keeping Water Cool - Ceramic bowls are far more resistant to the effects of heat from the sun compared to stainless steel bowls meaning that your pets water will remain cooler for longer.

Caring for your ceramic bowl

Your handmade ceramic pet food bowls are dishwasher and microwave safe being that they are made from sturdy stoneware clay. Ceramics are strong to a point and if you drop your bowls as with any ceramic item it is possible/likely that it will break.
